Why do we do the things that we do in our lives? Why is it that sometimes even though we REALLY want to do something, we let things such as fear, self doubt, disbelief, and a lack of confidence stop us? Not too long ago, I was participating in a testimonial contest put on by 7 figure earner Jonathan Budd in which the grand prize was that Jonathan would fly the winner out to San Diego, put them up in a hotel room, rip them around in his Audi R8, and mastermind on how to take their business to 7 figures per year.

Needless to say, I wanted to win that contest DAMN BAD. I was willing to do whatever it took in order to take home the top prize because at the time I was struggling in my home business.

While I didn’t win the contest (and believe me I was devastated) I met some VERY interesting people along the way which actually proved to be a blessing in disguise.

One of the people I met in that contest was a fellow by the name of Ryan Yokome and after watching his testimonial video, I was EXTREMELY impressed with his video editing skills and decided to keep in touch with him after the contest had concluded.

Over the next couple of weeks, we had messaged each other back and forth until one day, he sent me a message that said the following:

“What up man, Had to reach out because I got something for you that will compliment your primary. Truthfully, I see a lot of potential in you, and I can see us doing some huge thing together. Plus you’re Canadian lol. I can see us rocking this thing out. I’m not sure where you’re at in life, but if you’re interested, let’s chat.”

Giving where I was at at that point in time, I was VERY interested to see what the heck he was talking about. After getting on a skype call with him and Tim Atkinson, they had introduced me to My Video Talk and told me about how good the timing was and how easy the product would be to market to other people.

I remember thinking to myself, “Yeah yeah I’ve heard that all before, what makes this any different?” After leaving that skype call, I went and checked my email and noticed that I had received an invitation for a webinar that evening. The training that was going to be covered seemed interesting so I signed up and later that evening I was introduced to the My Video Talk Video Broadcaster and after seeing the power behind the product…I WAS INSTANTLY SOLD! After leaving the webinar I immediately got back in contact with Ryan and asked him “Where the heck do I sign up?”.

While it may seem ridiculous to let something that doesn’t actually exist to hold us back, the sad reality is that many people today still succomb to their fears which prevents them from moving forward in the direction of their dream.

From everything that I have studied and analyzed about successful people, although the methods they used in order to become successful varied, they all had ONE THING IN COMMON and that it was they were willing to do what other people weren’t.

In other words, successful people sometimes have to do things that make them feel uncomfortable however, it is at these times when we feel most uncomfortable that we are given the greatest opportunity to grow and become more effective.
